What are the social insurance rates in Cyprus?

As of 2024, both employee and employer social insurance contributions are 8.8% of insurable earnings. In addition, both parties contribute to GESY (General Healthcare System). Total employer cost is approximately 11.7% on top of gross salary.

What is the minimum wage in Cyprus?

Cyprus introduced a statutory minimum wage. The current monthly minimum wage for most employees is €1,000 gross (after 6 months of employment). Some sectors have different minimum wage arrangements set by sectoral orders.

Do directors need to be on payroll?

Executive directors receiving remuneration must typically be on payroll and pay social insurance contributions. Non-executive directors receiving fees may have different treatment. This depends on the specific arrangement and should be confirmed with us.

How do you handle foreign employees working in Cyprus?

We support foreign employees throughout the onboarding process, including social insurance registration, GESY enrolment, income tax treatment, and coordination with any work permit requirements.

What is the IR7 and when is it due?

The IR7 is the annual employer payroll return summarising all employees, salaries, and deductions for the year. It is filed electronically via TAXISnet and is due by 31 July of the following year.
